Parent Booklet
At University we have been looking at how to enagage with parents. From my reading and experince in schools I understand that parents are a important part of thier child's education and it is up to schools to provide parents with support and information then they can support thier child's learning.
Therefore, I have created a parent booklet for Maths in Year One. I have imagined that I am an Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) teaching Year One. My booklet outlines the curriculum for Maths in Year One as well as the methods we will be using to support the children with thier mathematical learning. Also, I have included some helpful websites and games to play at home to guide parents when doing Maths at home. As well as the Maths content I have included termly meetings where I go through what we will be covering that term and what you can do at home to help your child, this is something I would like to introduce when I am a NQT.
Everything I have included in my booklet is to guide parents on how best to support thier child with thier learning and development. I would like to create a parent booklet for every subject when I am an NQT, because it is very important to support parents.
Not only does this support parents it also supports pupils to progress as the more support they get the more they can acheive.
